VASCULAR (VASS cue lar):
Pertaining to the blood vessels.

VASOCONSTRICTION (VASS oh kon STRICT shun):
The narrowing of dermal blood vessels.

VASOCONSTRICTOR ASSAY:
A human biassay to evaluate topical corticosteroids. The assay is based on the fact that steroids will cause vasoconstriction. Used to identify increasingly potent corticosteroids and their optimum vehicles and to compare various corticosteroid formulations.

VEHICLE:
When referring to topical dermatologic drugs, the medium in which the active is formulated.

VELLUS (VEL lus):
A soft, wispy, barely noticeable hair.

VERRUCA (ver ROO kuh) singular; plural verrucae (ver ROO kee):
Wart.

VESICLE (VES ih kul):
A vesicle is a blister filled with clear fluid. A vesicle can be as large as a pea. When a vesicle is larger than a pea it is called a bulla. Vesicles can be provoked by physical or chemical damage, infections, or immunologic responses.
